I have just had my mid morning coffee and for the first time in a long time I had a couple of Tim Tams with it. For you non-Aussies, a Tim Tam is a biscuit (cookie) covered in chocolate.
Tim Tams come in many varieties now, original, double choc coated, chewy caramel (my choice today) to name a few. The best way to eat them is to bite a small piece off each corner like so ............
Then use it as a straw to drink your coffee through.......my daughter swears that the absolutely best way is to drink Bailey's Irish Cream through them, but I still prefer hot drinks as it then melts the choc on the outside of the biscuit too....
VERY messy, but oh! so goooood. Not good for the waist line though, nor the diabetes, which is why I haven't done it for a long time. A little bit of a good thing is ok though.
The kitten, now called donut, is getting a little bit less timid each day, and actually let me put some food down beside it today......it only backed away a couple of feet instead of running out of the house. I still keep saying it as I don't know if it's a he or a she.
My knitting..........I haven't done very much due to the fact that it is so hot, and I don't have air con. The fan is ok for a while, but once the house heats up it just blows more hot air onto you. The hands get so sweaty that the yarn sticks to me and to the needles..........need I say more. So, I am still in the process of knitting the first of a pair of socks, 2 scarves, and I have completed one jumper/hat/bootees set for the Aids orphans in Africa. I have yet to start on another one as I want to get some circs in the correct size.......4.5mm.......will have to have a look at my daughter's store
to see if she has any.
A couple of weeks ago my daughter sent me a row counter bracelet which has proved to be invaluable when knitting the scarf I am making out of Lady Godiva yarn. The pattern is a 34 row pattern that is not easily remembered, so it's great to have a useful tool to help me count the rows and remember where I'm up to. It's very cute and I'm sure Natalie would love to have people order them. Check out
her store for lots of other cool stuff too.
